IMPORTANT NEWS!
We are taking a break for four weeks until Monday 21st December 2009, when we will return with a Holiday Special. Lord Poncenby is on an extended Sabbatical and will be taking his manservant up the Amazon. Set your sundials for the 21st of DECEMBER!
This was an amazingly intense class that opened up my eyes to more possibilities for “Turning Left…” that would really enhance its marketability. Since then I have been working on some major edits to ‘Turning Left…”.
Now – don’t panic! We WILL continue to podcast this version right up the end, but we need to take a little time off.
About “Turning Left at Albuqerque”:
What makes a wife leave her husband? When Jason, a computer-games addict, loses his wife and then his job, that’s the question he needs to answer. And it’s the one question this 37 year old has no intention of even thinking about. Instead he fires up his console, gets drunk and ends up with a place at University. His journey takes him through the culture shock of studying with teens, becoming an accidental doppelganger and the breakup of old friendships, which leads to the realization that living in his virtual world is not an option when his wife and future baby are on the line.
It is a mainstream humorous novel set amidst Jason’s latest computer game obsession and his reluctant dealings with the real world. It explores addiction, disconnection, online relationships and the hyper-wired modern age, as seen through the eyes of a disaffected geek.
This week:
So, that night out, then – how did that go? Just don’t ask Jason….

Sometimes you have to sit back and just take things in your stride. Like the fact that Lord Poncenby has too many ‘other engagements’ this week to grace us with his tubes. We could shout and scream, or report him to ‘Peerbusters’ for a lackadaisical attitude, or we can just accept that he is MIA. Again.
What to do until next week, though?
So, in the meantime, let’s have another poll! The last one was such a roaring success* that it would be madness not to!!!
Notes about the Poll
Simon Pegg & Nick Frost:
Come on - you know who these two are! Spaced, Hot Fuzz, Sean of The Dead, they are the unstoppable team of British Comedy who would make the parts of Jason and Andy their own. Okay - which one is which?
Sandeep Parikh and Jeff Lewis:
If you haven’t seen the award-winning The Guild webseries you need to, fast! Sandeep (who plays Zaboo) and Jeff (who plays Vork) would bring a whole new dimension to the roles and give the gamer episodes new buzz.
Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy:
If you don’t know who these two are, there is no hope. No hope at all. Technically there are a few problems with this casting decision but I think we could make it work…
Bodie and Doyle:
“37 to 45, over.” The Professionals. Would add an new twist to the story.
Vince Caso and Fernando Chien:
These two are also from The Guild (they play Bladezz and Wade Wai respectively) and would add power and l33t to the mix.
* roaring success may mean different things to different people.
